“Not working?” — Illustration & Custom Typography for Appliances Recycling

For the “Not working?” awareness campaign created with Soho Square Athens for Appliances Recycling / Electrocycle, I developed bespoke illustrations and custom typography designed to translate a complex environmental message into a simple and engaging visual language. The campaign addresses the widespread challenge of improper disposal of used electrical appliances and light bulbs, encouraging the public to recycle them properly at one of Electrocycle’s nationwide collection points.

Through a strategy that blends clarity with creative expression, the work brings humour, personality and unmistakable visual identity to a public-utility message — helping to make recycling feel both memorable and accessible. Applied across print and content assets, the illustrations and typographic system give the campaign a unique voice that supports its mission: shifting habits and raising awareness around sustainable behaviour.

This project was recognized with a Silver Award at the Ermis Awards, underlining the strength of its creative execution and effectiveness in delivering a socially relevant message through design.
