Description
Astarte is an ethical clothing brand from Kauai island in Hawaii. The clothes are inspired by the nature of the island and its unique culture. The brand derives its name from the Greek term for the goddess Astarte, as a result of the founder’s incorporation of her Greek heritage and her deep connection to the spirituality and natural environment of the island. The clothing collection caters to all body types and perfectly complements those seeking to immerse themselves in the embrace of Kauai’s natural beauty.
I was commissioned to craft the visual identity for the brand, drawing inspiration from the prevailing spirituality of Hawaii. To emphasize the origins of this journey and the intrinsic connection to nature, I integrated key elements such as the natural surroundings, the location itself, and the brand’s central figure, the goddess “Astarte,” into the logo’s icon.
Commencing with the outline of the Kauai island, I conceived a composition that incorporates symbolic representations of three primary elements: earth, water, and air. These elements envelop the central figure, Astarte, shaped by a simplified version of her star symbol and the letter A.
